Building on from ideas raised in SSG-287 & SSG-286, I was thinking that users could use their satellites to collect more data from planets, like spectroscopy data. This would purely have a cosmetic effect for now, because I can’t think of any classification mechanics we can do, but it just adds more content.

For now, I think spectroscopy images, graphs and stellar metallicity values could be of interest.

SSG-287

Integrating External Scientific Sources

Classification anomalies now optionally display external dataset prefixes (e.g. KOI-xxx, TIC-xxx). This supports future integration of KOI entries or deeper EXoFOP data for research purposes.

Some research tree entries now display explanations of the scientific origin of data (e.g. what KOI means, what TIC represents), along with cosmetic or analytical upgrades that may be unlocked by the player.

This connects well with long-term sandbox customisation flows.
