To improve UI and the “codebase’s understanding” of the satellite flow -

Re-add satellite delay time with visuals to satellite viewport - so that we can’t just classify everything instantly. More minigames in post-sprint ?

There will need to be some skills added to the /research route, including a mission to send rovers to extract the resources, and a new kind of rover. None of these skills/mechanics will be unlockable, yet.

I also need to determine the flow for generating deposits from Planet4 . That is in progress now.

Deployment/Viewport improvements

  • Overhaul telescope deployment UI, especially for mobile
  • Add sidebar/bottom bar layout, upgraded, with main colour scheme for telescope viewport

The first thing for the telescope viewport is to reduce the file size and separate TelescopeViewportRange.tsx component into multiple files.

Bee Minigame

Bee minigame This is starting to slip into development hell - taking way too long to get something out there. Which is why I’m going to send a version to be compiled (with cloud supabase credentials) overnight tonight (14.10.25).

Now that this is mostly done, I’m starting to think a little about what the best next steps would be. I think I should get feedback on this version after distributing it before adding any additional features or mechanics.

Beyond the initial distribution to friends and family, I think I need to look into making the app available as a PWA. This avoids the requirement for the developer account.

This will probably require a new landing page. All SS mini games could be shown there, open in a tab with a PWA popup invite.

I’m concerned that separating the different projects into separate games will defeat the selling point of Star Sailors as compared to Zooniverse.

Anyway. I think the next game could be a driving simulator. That’s pretty straightforward. It has a simple game loop -

  2. Find ooi
  3. Classify and drive on

Upgrades for rovers. We’ll say that your goal is to improve the obstacle avoidance skills. Add a leaderboard.

I’m not sure where to get sprites from. Maybe itch.

City building or puzzle games would be the next thing.

Anyway - everything is all connected. So resources can be pooled.

Landing page can offer them different experiences.

Let’s try and get login access working seamlessly, that way we could have transitions between scenes. Building on that - let’s use itch.io for control panel ideas
